Privacy Policy
Effective date: October 21, 2026 · Last updated: October 21, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how AKES Solutions Limited, a company registered in England and Wales under number 17091947, with its registered office at Unit 501 Leroy House, 434-436 Essex Road, London, United Kingdom, N1 3FY (“we”, “us”, “our”), collects, uses, shares and protects information when you use the Perde Tarih app and the website perdetarih.com (together, the “Service”). We are the data controller for that information.
It is written against what the Service actually does, and it is short where the Service does little. If you do not agree with it, please do not use the Service.
1. No account
The Service has no account, no email address and no password. When you first open the app, it creates an anonymous identifier for your installation, and everything we keep is kept against that identifier. We never ask for your name, and nothing you do in the app is shown to other people.
We do not sell your personal data and we do not build advertising profiles.
2. What we collect
What the app sends us
- Installation identifier — the anonymous identifier described above, and a token the app uses to prove that its requests are its own.
- Device and app details — the platform (iOS or Android), operating system version, device model, app version, the language and region your phone is set to, and your time zone — so the Service reaches you in your language and notifications arrive at a sensible hour.
- Preferences — the settings you choose in the app, such as its language and which notifications you want.
- Push token — if you allow notifications, the address Apple or Google gives the app for delivering them to this device.
- Subscription status — whether you have an active subscription, which product it is, and when it renews or ends. We receive this from the store and from our billing provider; we never see your card or payment details.
- Usage events — which screens and features are used and how the app performs — for example, that a story was started — sent to our analytics provider (Section 6). They are tied to the installation identifier, not to you by name.
- Crash reports — if the app crashes or an error occurs, a diagnostic report: the error, the device and app details above, and the steps in the app that led to it.
What we receive from others
- Attribution — which campaign, advertisement or link led to an install, from our attribution provider (Section 7).
- Network information — your IP address reaches our servers with every request, as it does for every service on the internet. We use it to keep the Service secure and to work out which country you are in; we do not store it in our database.
If you write to us
- Support emails — the message you send to support@perdetarih.com and the address you send it from.
On this website
perdetarih.com uses product analytics (Section 6) to count visits and which buttons are tapped, and measures how quickly its pages load. It sets no advertising cookies and shows no third-party advertising. Nobody signs in here.
3. How we use it
- to provide the Service — deliver content in your language, keep your settings, and unlock what your subscription includes;
- to send the notifications you chose, and to stop when you turn them off;
- to keep the Service secure and working — preventing abuse, diagnosing crashes and fixing errors;
- to understand, in aggregate, how the Service is used, so that we can improve it;
- to measure which of our campaigns lead to installs;
- to answer you when you write to us, and to meet our legal obligations, such as keeping accounting records of purchases.
We do not use your information to make decisions about you that have legal or similarly significant effects, and we do not use it to train artificial intelligence models.
4. Legal bases
Where data protection law such as the EU or UK GDPR or Türkiye’s Law No. 6698 on the Protection of Personal Data (KVKK) applies, we rely on:
- Contract — providing the Service you asked for, including your subscription;
- Legitimate interests — keeping the Service secure, fixing crashes, understanding usage in aggregate and measuring our own campaigns, in ways that do not override your rights and freedoms;
- Consent — notifications and, on iPhone, the use of your advertising identifier for attribution — each of which you can withdraw at any time in your phone’s settings;
- Legal obligation — keeping the records the law requires, such as tax and accounting records.
5. Who we share it with
We share information only with the service providers listed in Section 6, which process it on our behalf under contracts that limit them to that purpose; with Apple and Google, which run the app stores and process your purchase under their own terms; and with authorities where the law requires it. If our business or its assets are ever transferred, your information would pass to the new owner under this Policy.
When you ask Apple to refund an in-app purchase, Apple may ask us how that purchase was used before it decides. Our billing provider, RevenueCat, then answers for us with: how long you have used the app, whether what you bought was used, how much you have spent and been refunded in the app, and the platform you bought on. It never includes your name, your contact details or which stories you listened to. Apple makes the decision. By making a purchase you agree to this information being shared with Apple for that purpose.
We do not sell personal data, and we do not share it for behavioural advertising.
6. Service providers
These companies process data on our behalf. Each link goes to that company’s own privacy policy.
| Service | Purpose | Privacy policy |
|---|---|---|
| Cloudflare | Hosting this website and the app’s backend, its database, and the network every request travels over | link |
| Apple | App distribution, push notification delivery on iPhone, and subscription billing through the App Store | link |
| App distribution and subscription billing through Google Play, push notification delivery on Android, and Firebase App Check, which confirms requests come from a genuine copy of the app | link | |
| Expo | Delivering push notifications to Apple’s and Google’s notification services | link |
| RevenueCat | Subscription management: validating store receipts, keeping your subscription status, and answering Apple’s usage questions on a refund request | link |
| PostHog | Product analytics (usage events), in the app and on perdetarih.com | link |
| Sentry | Crash and performance diagnostics | link |
| AppsFlyer | Install attribution: which campaign or link an install came from (on iPhone, the advertising identifier only if you allow tracking) | link |
| Telegram | Our internal operations channel, which receives coarse install and billing notices (platform, device model, country) and never a name or a contact detail | link |
7. Tracking and attribution
On iPhone, the app asks through Apple’s tracking prompt before it uses your device’s advertising identifier. We use it for one purpose: to learn which campaign an install came from. If you decline, the app works exactly the same and the identifier is never read.
On Android, our attribution provider may receive the advertising ID Google provides, unless you have deleted it or opted out in your phone’s settings (Settings → Google → Ads, or Settings → Privacy → Ads).
None of this is used to show you advertising inside the app.
8. Notifications
Notifications are off until you allow them. If you do, the app registers a push token with Apple or Google, and we keep it with your notification settings so that we can deliver the notifications you chose. You can turn them off in the app or in your phone’s settings at any time; a token that stops working is deleted.
9. How long we keep it
- Your data — for as long as the app uses it. If you delete your account (see perdetarih.com/delete), everything held against your installation identifier is erased promptly — normally within minutes.
- Database recovery history — our database keeps a point-in-time restore history for 30 days, used only to recover from a failure. A deleted account ages out of it after that, and it is never restored on request.
- Analytics — usage events are kept for up to 12 months.
- Diagnostics — crash reports are kept for up to 12 months.
- Server logs — request logs and the records of failed background tasks are kept for 7 days.
- Purchases — records of what you bought are kept by Apple or Google and by our billing provider for as long as tax and accounting law requires, even after you delete your account.
- Support emails — kept for as long as we need to answer you, then deleted.
Deleting the app from your phone does not delete your data from our servers, and deleting your account does not cancel a subscription — cancel it in your App Store or Google Play settings.
10. Security
Data travels over encrypted connections (HTTPS), is stored encrypted by our hosting provider, and is reachable only by the systems that need it. Requests to our servers must come from a genuine copy of the app. No system is perfectly secure; if a breach ever affects you, we will tell you and the authorities as the law requires.
11. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you can ask us to confirm whether we process your data and to give you a copy; to correct it; to erase it; to restrict or object to its processing; to give it to you in a portable format; and you can withdraw any consent you have given. Residents of Türkiye have the rights in Article 11 of the KVKK, residents of the EU and the UK those under the GDPR, and residents of California those under the CCPA — including the right not to be treated differently for using them.
The quickest way to erase everything is from inside the app (perdetarih.com/delete). For anything else, write to support@perdetarih.com. Because there is no account and no name on file, we may need your help to identify your installation before we can act on a request. You can also complain to your data protection authority — in Türkiye, the Personal Data Protection Authority (Kişisel Verileri Koruma Kurumu).
12. Children
The Service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them. If you believe a child under 13 has used the Service, write to support@perdetarih.com and we will delete the data.
13. International transfers
Our service providers operate around the world, so your information may be processed outside your country, including in the United States and the European Union. Where the law requires it, we rely on safeguards such as the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses and, for transfers from Türkiye, the mechanisms the KVKK provides.
14. Changes to this Policy
If we change this Policy, we will update the date at the top. If a change is significant, we will tell you in the app before it takes effect.
